It’s In My Blood

Years ago, while visiting a veteran missionary in Malawi, he warned me: “Africa gets in your blood!” Sure enough it happened to me. We moved our family to Tanzania and lived there from 2007-2012. While there I did get malaria in my blood, but Africa got in my heart! Here we are, just the two of us this time, getting ready to go again.

December has been a month full of goodbyes. We said goodbye to Joy’s father on December 2, when he passed from this life to go be with the Lord. We are very thankful to spend several weeks with Joy’s mother before we leave the country.

December 13th was our last Sunday with our church family in Hawesville, KY. The day was filled with deep emotion, as we said goodbye to the place where we’ve labored for the past 8 1/2 years. Unfortunately, due to Covid, some members are still not attending, and therefore, we were unable to see them and say goodbye before our departure.

We will be saying goodbye to other family members in the near future. We know that God will give us the strength and courage to work for Him, as we are temporarily separated from our loved ones.

We will be flying out of Evansville, IN on January 18th, headed for Iringa, Tanzania. We covet your prayers.
