Jesus promised: “seek, and ye shall find” (Matt. 7:7). God knows those who have good and honest hearts. It is He who understands thoughts afar off (Psalm 139:2).
When a queen’s officer was far from home, God sent an evangelist (Acts 8:26-40). Pauli is living far from her home country, which is the Philippines. Yet distance is not a barrier to God’s providential working.
Joy and I had many Bible classes with Pauli, via Skype, before making this journey. We arrived Tuesday evening in Ilulissat, Greenland. Although the temps outside were frigid, we were very warmly welcomed by Pauli.
On Wednesday morning, Pauli went to a local hotel to inquire about using a bathtub for a baptism. They declined. In the afternoon, Pauli, Joy, and I walked to the Hotel Arctic, where I asked permission to use a room with a tub, for a religious baptism. Thankfully they agreed and charged only a cleaning fee, which Pauli insisted on paying. We looked out on the bay of icebergs, as the sun was setting and the tub was filling. Water overflowed as did our emotions, when I immersed her into Christ.
Thanks first to God, then to you all, for your prayers and support.
